Sri Lankan Beef Curry Cooking Instructions.

Ingredients:

  • Gedera & Co. Beef Curry Kit
  • 800g to 1kg of diced beef
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 cm. piece of ginger
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tbsp. of oil
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup of hot water

Method:

  1. Finely chop the garlic, ginger, onion, and tomato, and this set aside.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a heavy-based pan.
  3. Add the garlic, ginger, and onion and contents of the Aromatics Pouch to the pan and fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Empty the Spice Blend Pouch in to the pan and fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the diced beef to the pan; stir well to coat the beef with the spice mix for 5 to 6 minutes.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan and bring it to boil.
  7. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring every 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Empty the Coconut Milk Powder Pouch to a small bowl and mix with 1/4 cup of hot water and add it to the pan.
  9. Cook for 6 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and turn off the heat.

Note: Pandan leaves are edible but they are tough and fibrous. They add an amazing aroma but are not pleasant to eat. Please remove them before enjoying the dish.
