Coconut Sambol

Cooking Instructions

What you will need

  • Gedera & Co. Coconut sambol kit
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Method

1.Roughly Chop the onion and set aside

2. Empty the Shredded Coconut Pouch on to a bowl and add 1/2 cup of boiling water, mix well and set aside for 5-6 minutes

3.Put the Spice Blend mix and onion in the food processor and pulse 5 seconds or until it’s a rough paste with pieces of onion.

4. Add the onion spice mixture to the shredded coconut bowl and mix the two thoroughly until well incorporated.

5.Add juice of 1/2 lime and mix well.

Serve with just about anything - Eggs on toast, Roti, Warm Rice and an egg or even as a Pizza topping with Cheese.

Note: Pandan leaves are edible but they are tough and fibrous. They add an amazing aroma but are not pleasant to eat. Please remove them before enjoying the dish.
